Halloween festival in the city

Halloween has become big in Australia over the past few years.  I went to the Halloween Festival in The Rocks on Saturday and it was great fun.  Lots of amazing costumes on display and plenty of fun camaraderie.

Halloween at School

It was Halloween day at Kaplan on Friday. Some of the staff dressed up as you can see!  I both wrote and found some ghost stories and terrified the hell out of (particularly some) of my students today.  I was worried about one of my tales, thinking it was far too far fetched, but then my 40 year old Russian student suddenly got a crazed look in her eye and insisted that she'd heard the same tale while living in the Czech Republic and she was absolutely, completely positive it had actually happened which created a nice stir in the class and cranked up the eerie atmosphere a notch or too.

Halloween in Brisbane

Ally flew up to Brisbane for Glen's birthday party - which had a Halloween theme. Halloween is pretty big in Austrlalia and is on the 31st October - so it was a good excise for everyone to dress up in ghoulish costumes. Even the food was dressed up, like the avocado dip spewing from a grinning orange mouth. Uuuuugh. It was lots of fun and Ally was on a high when she got back.
