London Arch

London Arch is a stunning natural rock formation that was once known as London Bridge due to its original  arched structure.  In 1990, one of its arches collapsed unexpectedly, leaving a dramatic single-span structure and stranding two visitors on the newly formed island until they were rescued.

As you can see below, London Arch used to be called London Bridge and it had an arch connecting it to the mainland.  On the evening of 15 January 1990, this arch cracked and fell into the sea, leaving two very shocked tourists stranded on the outer section.  A helicopter was called to rescue them.
